I started working out in the early months of 2010. It is now September of 2011. What did I accomplish? Did I actually gain the weight I wanted? Do I look better? Did I gain more confidence? These questions kept coming up mentally as I work my way to achieving this personal goal.

I weighed 135lbs. in January of 2010. After eating steak (easily 3-4x a week), taking supplements, and working out, I’m sitting between 155-160lbs. Now is when I struggle to gain anymore weight as I think I reached my peak weight. I will continue to try and reach my ideal weight (170ish).

Supplements

Whey Protein

Weight Gainers

L-Arginine

L-Glutamine

Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Creatine

Workout Schedule

Monday – Chest, Triceps

Tuesday – Back, Biceps, Cardio

Wednesday – Abs

Thursday – Run, Legs

Friday – Rest

Saturday – Abs

Sunday – Whatever I feel like

My confidence level has definitely gone up as everyone noticed I don’t look THAT skinny anymore. Having a super fast metabolism surely created more obstacles for me. I love the challenge though. I was dedicated and determined and that’s all that matters. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR SKINNY PEOPLE WITH A FAST METABOLISM TO GAIN WEIGHT!

Nike’s Motto – Just Do It.

Today, Jeff and I drove 2 and half hours from Lakewood to Steamboat to run a 10k race. It didn’t hit me until the week before the race that it is super far and Jeff didn’t realize that we were going to be running at 10,000 feet above sea level. We got lost on the way there and had to backtrack another 20 miles until we reached our doom.

Got out of the car, stretched, drank water, got pumped, etc… Jeff kept saying he’s done for while I kept thinking that this was a walk in the park. The race director gave us a 15 minute warning until the starting time. I was ready. Got my sad sappy love song playlist on my phone and my noise cancelling earphones.

The gunshot was fired so everyone started running. I had a good start as I passed people up left and right. I kept thinking to myself, wow, this isn’t too bad. All of a sudden, the nice little walk in the park turned into the path to hell. I looked up and it was one of the steepest incline I have ever seen.

As I tried my best to keep my pace while running up this treacherous rocky path, the runners (this included old ladies and men) behind me were passing me up. I wanted to surrender. My thighs and calves were done for. The elevation sucked the life out of me. I wanted to cry and do the walk of shame back down the mountain.

It took me nearly forty minutes to get to the summit of the trail which was the half way point of the 10K (~3.4 miles). There was an aiding station at the top. They were passing out Gatorade, water, and energy gels. As I was drinking Gatorade, it hit me that I was up 11,200ft. above sea level. The guy handing out the drinks told me it’s all downhill from here. He said it was “easy, breezy” from here on. What a sign of relief. NOT.

As I kept running, the trail sloped down with a vast amount of rocks ready to take out of my ankles. I had basically control my run so I don’t mess up my knees or ankles. “Easy, breezy” my ass or maybe I’m just super noob at running.

Finally made it down to the finish line with a time of an hour and nineteen minutes. Probably the worst time I’ve ever gotten in a 10k race ever. This is by far the hardest 10k I’ve ever done. I’m glad I did it. Jeff and I will handle any 10k races from now on. I’m proud of him, he made it down. He didn’t let me down.

What I can do to improve my time:

1) Start doing stairmasters at the gym. This is for the incline.

2) Start running at higher elevations. I felt like I needed an inhaler the whole time.

3) Eat pasta 2-3 days ahead of time.

4) Bring a Camelbak and those disgusting gels. Those things would have been clutch.

5) Sunscreen. Enough said.

6) Bring beef jerky. If I don’t eat it then I’m sure a bear would likely sniff it out and start chasing me. My time would have improved dramatically.

I recently decided to upgrade to a new phone through T-Mobile. It was too good of a deal to pass up since I basically got the phone for free. It’s the new HTC G2 from Google. It has Android 2.2 Froyo OS with 4G speed. It’s fast but I want faster.

Being a total Android noob, I wanted to figure out how to overclock the phone. It took me some time to research on the XDA Developers website. Actually, a couple of weeks of time to figure everything out.

I rooted my phone using Visionary and got S-OFF. ADB was probably the most confusing to put on my computer. Finally, I was able to really dive into the phone and mess with it by installing the CyanogenMod 6.1.1 ROM and Pershoot’s kernel. The G2 stock was running at 800mhz. My phone is now running at 1.516ghz =)

I love my phone and I love Android. So many possibilities with this phone.

The sausages and I went on our semi-annual Estes Park trip. This time, we had to go on the ghost hunt. Aside from the gaming, drinking, and eating in the cabin, the paranormal hunt was very necessary to get everyone up and out.

From playing Super Mario on the Wii to describing words on Catch Phrase, it was choatic. I lost my voice. There’s now so many inside jokes from just that day. A couple guys in particular, were targeted and made fun of. Fat boy got the phrase “ignorance is bliss.” He had no clue on how to describe it so he decided to say “I am ‘blank.’” Of course, we filled it in with gay, fat, ugly, etc. (we still love you fat boy). That night, we had a grand dinner which included 16oz+ steak, sashimi, shrimps, and sausages with grilled onions. It was an orgasm in my mouth.

The next day was the ghost lectures and actual ghost hunt. Most of the guys and I could only make it through one of the lectures since all of us were sleeping near the back of the room. We went back to the cabin and relaxed until the actual ghost hunt. Oh, we decided to do the grape eating contest… I’ll let the video do the talking.

Dinner that night was at Smokin’ Daves BBQ restaurant. The amount of meat was unbearable especially when you get the triple platter. It was delicious and satisfying. Too bad I couldn’t finish everything. My buddy, Jeff, took care of the rest.

Once 8 ‘o clock rolls around, we all drove to the Stanley Hotel ready to get raped by some ghosts. We were split into groups of 12 or 13. Of course, everyone knew all the “asians” were in a group. The president suite was the first location. We didn’t experience much there though the flashlight did flicker here and there. For the most part, everything was a little bit sketch. We did, however, experienced some activities in room 1302. Fat boy felt a tap on his head twice, Hung’s book fell over, and Huy felt a vibration on the bed multiple times. The last part of the ghost hunt really spooked everyone. In the concert hall, we went down to what used to be Lucy’s room. As everyone got into the room, the door started moving on its own and closes. We all screamed like a group of scared little girls as the paranormal investigator opens the door and tries to talk to the spirit. He asked her to do it again, and sure enough, the door closes one more time. The door is a little bit sketchy since it is a spring-loaded hinge. We finished our tour and were relieved (at least I was). Though I’m not sure if $80 was worth it since I don’t I experienced enough paranormal activities to justify that price.

Overall, the trip was once again, a good break. I would consider going again but maybe in the summer this time so we get to experience the actual outdoor activities that makes Estes Park a tourist attraction.

I had to go back. I just had to. After 14 years of not being able to see all my relatives, it was a must. Then the opportunity came when Korean Air decides to drop their prices. For only $850, you can buy a round trip ticket. It was a sign and my only chance to go.

My friend, Victor, booked the same flight with me. Our plan was to travel from south to north and explore as much as we can in Viet Nam. We took some time to plan our destinations and how long we would be staying in each. Of course some things won’t be going as planned but it’s better to know what you want to do/visit.

We both flew to Ho Chi Minh City early in June. Victor had a hookup where we can stay in a 5 star hotel for a discounted price. I was excited to hear that so we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel for a night. After that, we decided to explore the city a little bit longer. We booked a 2 star hotel near the Ben Thanh Market. It was HUGE difference. I never gripped on my wallet so hard in my life walking around the lobby. The bathroom was so humid and the room was tiny. The bedsheets felt a little bit sticky. We ignored it and went to sleep. We visited the Ben Thanh Market to find cheap/fake brand name shirts/backpacks/anything we can find that we can hoard back to the U.S. I was able to buy some NorthFace jackets, backpacks, and a full snowboarding outfit for less than $100. It was my dream shopping mall. All the girls would try their hardest to pull me or Victor into their little shops. We pretended we didn’t know Vietnamese for the hell of it. Of course, they found out later and gave us crap for not speaking it in the first place.

I booked a flight to Da Nang while Victor went to his hometown to visit his relatives for a couple of days. We split up but he was going to meet me in Da Nang. I got on the plane and was on my way to see my grandma and relatives. I noticed the Vietnamese crowd are a rowdy bunch of individuals. They talk so loudly even though they’re sitting right next to each other. This one obnoxious little boy was sitting behind me. He kicked my chair and kept messing with the food tray. I wanted to hogtie him and throw him off the plane. The landing was the greatest relief ever. That one hour flight seemed way too long. I got off, grabbed my luggage, and headed out the front entrance of the tiny Da Nang Airport. My grandma, along with all of my aunts, bum rushed me with excitement. The joy in their faces gave me a warm fuzzy feeling and was one of the reasons why I wanted to go back to Viet Nam. They drove me back to grandma’s house. She cooked and prepared a delicious homecooked meal for me.

My grandma’s house is literally 5 minutes away from the beach. It had to be done. We had to go and see the beautiful hot girls in bikinis (sadly, there were none). The salt water was sticky and irritated my skin. The girls jumped in with their clothes on, the guys just took off their shirts. I can’t swim so I stayed near the sandy part of the beach. After an hour or so, we went to rinse ourselves with “sweet water.”

I will be constantly updating this post since I know I have much more to say. Just too tired right now. Pictures and Videos will be uploaded soon…

Anyhow, I’ve been trying to workout and gain weight on a regular basis. This includes working out 3 times a week and take my protein and creatine supplements everyday (if I can remember). I am currently at 158ish pounds. Seems like getting to 160lbs is not an easy goal. I need to eat more and eat even more when I work out.

This year’s halloween was probably the funniest for me. Took out all the playboy bunnies in a sexy costume contest.

I can’t wait to go to Estes Park and go on the ghost hunt at the Stanley Hotel. The guys from Ghost Adventures will be taking us through the most haunted places of the hotel. Of course I’m scared, but that’s not going to stop me.

I will upload my Vietnam stuff soon.

It’s been almost 5 months since I’ve updated. I did not start working out and eating more until January or February. My diet has changed. I’m currently drinking muscle mass powder drinks everyday to gain weight while working out 2-3 times a week. I take creatine before and after I work out to be able to do more reps while lifting weights.

I’m now sitting comfortably at 151lbs. I’ve gained roughly 15lbs. since December. I now want to change my goal to weigh 160lbs by the end of May. I’m eating 5-6 meals per day with more protein and carbs. Will update again soon.

I just started my new diet plan this week in order for me to gain 160lbs by the end of December. I’m currently weighing in at 136lbs so I have lots work to do to get to my ideal weight. Eating 5-6 meals is not easy for me since I have to try and find the right food to eat. I must consume 3000 calories a day.

I will start working out my upper body every Tuesday and Thursday while Wednesday and Friday will be my lower body. Weight lifting will be the main workout plan as I don’t really need to do cardio. I will weigh myself again next Monday to see if I gain any weight.
